Borehole was among the Decepticons under Overlord's command on Garrus-9, but unfortunately, his ruthless commander chose him to fight in gladiatorial combat for the other soldiers' amusement. He fought against the savage Autobot Kick-Off, who brutally beat him to a pulp and kept him from transforming. Borehole pleaded with his opponent that as an Autobot, he couldn't just ruthlessly finish an enemy off, but Kick-Off only responded that factions no longer meant anything.
