Rectifier coil

A rectifier coil is a piece of technology from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Rectifier coils shield the interior of spaceships from energon radiation.

While mounting a diversionary attack, Megatron had Waspinator and Terrorsaur steal the rectifier coil from the outer hull of the Axalon. Despite an attempt by Optimus Primal to stop them, Megatron shot the Maximal leader down, forcing Airazor to make the hard choice to save Optimus rather than prevent the Predacons from escaping with the vital piece of equipment.

Without the rectifier coil, the Maximals were forced to stay in their beast modes to avoid energon buildup. They soon succumbed to the instincts of their beast sides, roaming the nearby jungle with their minds in a wild untamed state. While the Predacons were out hunting, Airazor was able to sneak into their base and easily steal the rectifier coil back. In the meantime, Tigatron had helped the Maximals overcome the blocks between their programming and their beast instincts. Call of the Wild
