The name Bumblebee can refer to several different characters:

• 1984 — Bumblebee, the yellow kid-appeal character from Generation 1. For a while he was known as Goldbug before going back to Bumblebee. For toys of this character, see Bumblebee (G1)/toys. • 2007 — Bumblebee, the yellow one-man franchise kid-appeal character from the 2007 film. For toys of this character, see Bumblebee (Movie)/toys.

• 2007 — Bumblebee, the yellow kid-appeal character from Transformers Animated.

• 2008 — Bumblebee, later known as Goldbug, the evil Autobot spy/Seeker commander from Shattered Glass. Partially yellow, definitely not kid-appeal.

• 2010 — The Transformers: Bumblebee, an IDW comic mini-series set in the IDW Generation 1 continuity.

• 2010 — Bumblebee, the yellow kid-appeal character from Transformers: Prime.

"Bumblebee" (French: Bourdon) is also the Quebecois French name for Waspinator's original toy. His name wasn't used for 23 years. Now we cant stop his name from being used. Luckily his likeness was used in Sparkplug.

Bumblebee should not be confused with:

• Goldbug, the one Goldbug who was never Bumblebee.

• Bumper, Cliffjumper and Hubcap, who all had very similar molds and colors to the original Generation 1 Bumblebee, leading to confusions.

• The Wireless Automated Sales Person (or WASP for short), the Shattered Glass Autobot whose appearance is based on the Transformers Animated Elite Guard Bumblebee toy.

• Any other Kid-appeal character, especially the yellow ones.
