Animated cartoon continuity

Some 800 stellar cycles ago, Skram attended Autobot boot camp alongside Hot Rod, Blaster and Quickslinger, and was given his name by their drill sergeant, Kup. During their final training exercize, which involved live ammunition, Skram tripped and dropped a grenade next to Kup, but Hot Rod selflessly jumped onto it to protect the old bot.
