Scalpel (Animated)

- Scalpel is a Decepticon from the Transformers Animated continuity family.
Scalpel, or "The Doctor" as he is sometimes known, is equal parts medic, engineer, and butcher. While he is not as skilled as his Autobot counterpart Perceptor, he makes up for it with a complete lack of ethics. Scalpel excels at taking things apart, whether they be Autobot, organic, or even his fellow Decepticons. This becomes troublesome as his enthusiasm for dissecting things is far greater than his ability to reassemble them once he's done.

After the Great War, Megatron enlisted Scalpel to clone the Autobot's greatest scientific mind, Perceptor, in order to turn the intellect that won the war against the Autobots. Despite Starscream's insistence that copying the Autobot scientist's design schematics would not be enough to turn defeat into victory, Megatron allowed the project to continue, with the end result a complete failure at achieving the goals it was created for.
Scalpel also inspected the enigmatic Cyclonus in order to determine his origins. Turned out he was from the future and knew a lot about history. Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II
