The Combaticons are offered a Faustian deal.
Synopsis

The Combaticons awaken inside a cell within the fortress of their captor. Swindle marveled at the sturdiness of their prison, Blast-Off complained that his altmode was never of use, and Brawl repeatedly tried to grab the bars despite being electrocuted by them. Onslaught's pleas for them to settle down went unheard, as he wearily grasped his forehead.
Soon Decepticons named Vanquish and Falcon approached the cell and apologized for the horrible mistake of imprisoning them. This wasn't how it was supposed to go at all! After attempting (and failing) to smooth over bad feelings, the Combaticons were lead into the chamber of their captor, Lord Deathsaurus. Deathsaurus preyed on the group's insecurities and began offering them what they desired. To Blast-Off, an upgrade that also included a land mode was suggested, much to his pleasure. Deathsaurus also picked at their pride, reminding them that they were always paired with another team, as if they were unworthy to battle alone. This needling especially shook Onslaught. Deathsaurus talked about how Onslaught had graduated at the top of his class at Omnihelix Academy, as one of the greatest strategic minds Cybertron had ever known.
Slowly but surely, Deathsaurus convinced the Combaticons that their real enemy was the Elite Guard, which had humiliated them and dulled their potency. He offered a means to enact violent revenge and show just who on Cybertron was a symbol of power and strength, while putting a quick and relatively painless end to the growing war before it escalated. Onslaught, after seeing what technological upgrade Deathsaurus had in mind for the team, readily accepted.
