Under Scorponok's rule, the Decepticons had built a Stormmaker Station. Their plan was to cause a storm above New York City and gather the energy through an eletro-stator placed atop the Empire State Building. Skullgrin, much to his disappointment, was assigned to guard the Stormmaker Station while the other Decepticon Pretenders got to do more important work.

At the site of the Stormmaker Station in the New Jersey swamps, the Pretenders found a human spying on them. Her life was saved due to the arrival of the Off Road Patrol a few moments later, which distracted the Decepticons and made them realize their priorities. Iguanus and the other Pretenders left to keep to the mission's schedule, instructing Skullgrin to deal with the Micromasters and keep the Stormmaker Station safe.

Battling Skullgrin, the Off Road Patrol realized the machine he was guarding was important and later figured out it was what was causing the odd weather. Mudslinger destroyed the machine, but it was already too late for the storm to dissipate. King Con!
