Astrotrain is a Decepticon Triple Changer, who turns into a Cybertronian jet and a train. He pals around with Shockwave.

Fiction

IDW Dark of the Moon comics

Along with Shockwave, he crash-landed near a oil rig that was on fire. Near that rig was Salvage and Longarm who were trying to put out the fires. The two Decepticons quickly killed them both, along with the human workers. Astrotrain was assigned to help build the cage for Shockwave's pet, Driller, in upstate New York. The instructions for the cage were encrypted in a small brains drone, codenamed Brains. Shockwave instructed Astrotrain that when the cage was completed, he would destroy Brains. Eavesdropping, Brains heard this and ran away. Rising Storm issue 1

Astrotrain later accompainied Shockwave to raid Diego Garcia. He watched as his master killed Theodore Galloway, other humans, Knock Out, Jolt, and Dune Runner. Shockwave ordered Astrotrain to head back to New York. Rising Storm issue 2

Elita-One, Arcee, and Chromia found Driller's cage. Astrotrain attempted to fight them off. With no prevail, Soundwave sent his minions to attack them. While Arcee and Chromia fought the Decepticons off, Elita-1 escaped going to bring information of Driller to Optimus Prime and the other Autobots. Astrotrain smiled and followed her. In a nearby major city, Astrotrain chased Elita-1 in his train form. Elita tried to escape by going over the building rooftops, but Astrotrain just transformed into his third mode, a jet and flew after her. Although it doesn't show it, in the next few minutes Elita-1 killed Astrotrain. Rising Storm issue 4
