- Cave brutes are creatures from the Dark of the Moon portion of the live-action film continuity family.
"Cave brutes" are a type of lifeform that inhabitats the tunnels beneath the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. Or at least they did 1898.
Fiction
IDW Dark of the Moon comics
Walter Simmons and Theodore Joseph Wells encountered the cave brutes while on an expedition. Since they growled at the two humans, Wells saw it fit to shoot at them. The creatures didn't take that well and attacked. The two adventurers escaped to the surface, where they killed the ones that followed them outside. They also sealed off the entrance to the cave to prevent more pouring out.
