Stillness... then strike!

Please use the Preview button when making numerous small changes to a single page, using "Save page" only after all your changes are made. This way, you don't clutter the Recent Changes page with a ton of tiny little edits.

I Got Yer Unsigned Post Right Here.

Please sign your posts to Talk pages. It's easy. Just type four tildes (~~~~), then click Show Preview, and the wiki software will automatically fill in your name and a datestamp.

Signed posts make it much easier to keep track of who said what, and when. Also, if you don't do this, you risk having your posts removed entirely.

"No doubt our wit is too slyly subtle for them to appreciate."
"Apparently, some of your kind saw fit to decorate me while I was waiting."

If you haven't yet contributed anything, we'd really rather you didn't simply change jokes or add new ones without adding actual content. This also holds true for removing captions whole-hog or replacing them with "information" that really isn't.
Remember, we're meant to be informative first, funny second. Write an episode summary, check out the Most Wanted Pages list or the Stubs list.

The reason why your caption on Freeway's page was deleted. --Lonegamer78 21:21, 27 May 2011 (EDT)

Sorry. This is the first wiki I've ever done, so I'm still new at this stuff. {{184.56.27.61 01:27, 28 May 2011 (EDT)}}

General help

Since it seems you are in need of some:

  • Technical:
    • To sign your posts, you only have to type this ~~~~ after your post.
    • To make a new article, you can click a red link you find on another page. This is the easiest way and also tells you the article is something the wiki is waiting for. If you want to write a page on your own initiative (often if you want to write about something that is nameless), you have to alter the text after tfwiki.net/wiki/ in the address bar atop your screen and press enter.
    • Since you're new, try not to jump right into article creation. Try updating other pages first by rewriting sloppy sections or unstubbing sections. This will get you familiar with the basics of editing and what kind of layout the wiki expects.
  • Community:
    • If you plan to stay and help out, it'll probably be better for everyone is you signed up as a user. Random numbers don't convey an identity as well as a name does.
    • Unless you have no access to the material yourself and are worried a page could remain outdated or incomplete, do not tell others to do something. In fact, don't ever tell others to do something. Ask nicely. If you're really interested in a subject that has no specific priority, you can also try asking if someone wants to update the page for you, but don't push it.
    • Try to balance your actual edits and talk page posts. Currently, most you did was ask things of and to the user base. That's... kind of annoying, if all the user base gets is questions and has to do extra work in writing a reply. You're new and uncertain of what to do or why some things are the way they are. That's fine, but you can also try to look for an answer yourself first. If a page seems to miss information, it might very well be that it is simply forgotten and nobody has noticed or cared to fix it. You're welcome to improve the wiki in every way you can, so add what's missing if you can.

I think that's about it, or do you have other questions? Geewunling 02:39, 28 May 2011 (EDT)
