Spindrift is a planet from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Spindrift is a world known for its vast vapor oceans, where useful spume crystals, meaty vapor eels and monstrous cloud leviathans can be found by anyone willing to brave the dangerous storms. Long in the past, during the Transformers' civil war, it was an important outpost for both the Autobots and Decepticons, who fought many battles over the spume crystals that could be refined into energon. Their battles wrought about many of the storms that now make Spindrift so hazardous, and the planet was eventually abandoned by both sides. It is now only visited by alien drifters who travel the vapor oceans in bloomships, catching vapor eels and whatever else they can make a profit of.

Locations on Spindrift include the Howling Blashie, a neverending storm zone, and the Realm of Wrecks, a veritable graveyard of Transformers who died during the war.

Spindrift was one the planets visited by Galvatron in his quest to use the Heart of Darkness to raise fallen soldiers from the dead and integrate them into his army. After saving the Murkskipper, a bloomship crewed by some crab-like drifters, from a cloud leviathan, he liberated Thinkbox from the ship's insides and traveled to the Realm of Wrecks, where he revived the corpses littering the place and transported them to Gorlam Prime.
