  • Sideswipe and Toxitron (Souvenir set, 2011)
    • Accessories: Ion Axe/backpack, water cannon
A redeco of Voyager Class Optimus Prime, Toxitron transforms into a futuristic Earth-mode fire truck. His rear portion includes a giant extinguisher cannon, which can become a hand weapon and really squirts water. His trailer also transforms into a giant, double-bladed ion axe. These weapons can store on his back, giving the appearance of wings and a jet pack. The toy features a mouthplate which can slide up to cover his face or retract down below. He also has an Automorph feature: Pressing a button on his butt causes his crotch to flip down and rotate into the proper position for robot mode.
This mold was retooled into BotCon 2011 Animated Motormaster. Toxitron was limited to 1500 pieces and sold in a set with Sideswipe.

Notes

Melvin was a 98lb. weakling until nuclear waste transformed him into...
  • Toxitron is based on a proposed redeco of the Generation 2 Laser Optimus Prime toy, with "pea soup" green, silver, and purple as colors. It was planned to be released as part of the original Universe toyline, but was canceled, presumably due to the line's flagging sales and relocation of many of its larger-priced items from normal retail to store exclusives. Universe Toxitron was first shown at BotCon 2005's "TF Rarities" panel by Rik Alvarez, with people describing it as "amazingly ugly" and "f***ing awesome". Later, it was on display at the "Things you've never seen before (and will never get)" booth at the Hasbro tour at BotCon 2007.
