In 1898, Walter Simmons and Theodore Joseph Wells went on an expedition to the Sierra Nevada mountains. They stumbled upon a collection of tunnels, in which they discovered a type of lifeform they had never seen before. Wells, ever the scientist, shot at the creatures in response to their growling. Of course, the creatures attacked and the two men swiftly made their way back outside, where they killed the ones that had followed them and sealed off the cave. Moments after their brush with certain death, the two men were approached by Billy North, an agent of the United States Secret Service, who informed them they were needed in Boston. Original
