Fan mode

A "(Fan Mode) is an "unofficial" mode of transformation which adds to the playability of a figure. Fan modes vary from slight changes to drastic reconfigurations of the original transformation scheme.

A good example of a simple fan mode would be, Movie 2007 Voyager Ironhide. It's been shown that if you spin Ironhide's head around, it very much resembles that of G1 Trailbreaker. The addition of some reproduction labels and the fan mode is complete with minimal changes.

A more involved fan mode, would be giving Animated Lugnut a scorpion mode. And of course there are the "unofficial combiners". There probably isn't a Transformers fan out there that hasn't tried to come up with various alternate transformations.
