User talk:Alientraveller/Alpha Trion
So, what do my fellow editors think? Alientraveller 08:29, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- I for one am in favour of this. I don't think any of the Alpha Trion pages are so long that combining them creates an unwieldy or infeasible article. - Chris McFeely 08:56, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- I like it and would have no problem with this merger. Our current note-dependent version was a compromise to assuage a few vocal opponents of cross-continuity, but I always thought that was a rather silly viewpoint so mergers cool with me. -ZacWilliam (not signed in) --76.28.76.206 08:58, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- I like it. I never did think that most of the A3s were that cumbersome to merge, you have proven me correct. I think as we go forward and learn more about the multiversal singularities and the new "aligned continuity" many past objections will be handled by the fiction.--Khajidha 09:05, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- Note: if/when this goes live we need to remember to merge all of the talk pages as well. --Khajidha 10:14, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- I think we can afford to hold off on this until later, when we have more information. I have a feeling that Things Are Afoot. --ItsWalky 10:45, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- Until we get explicit in-fiction revelation that the 13 are still multiversal singularities--and that this isn't an abandoned concept akin to "The One" and Logos Prime and lotsa other stuff over the years--I vote we keep things as they are. It's too important a step to base on "Forrest Says," especially since what Forrest Says would have required that Alpha Trion in Axiom Nexus not be evil anymore as that would have been only a temporary characteristic imposed upon him by the SG dimension. --Thylacine 2000 11:16, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- The One's been dropped? Sounds unlikely. Also I think it's clear it hasn't been dropped what with; The Fallen referring to his brothers as transdimensional beings in the comics; the mention in Exodus that their war lasted billions of cycles; the one Vector Prime guarding time and space; Nexus being scattered across the multiverse with no counterparts; and Prima's retconned appearance in the cartoon universe. Just the very fact of Hasbro's emphasis on the importance on "Once Upon a Time on Cybertron" as the backstory for the mythology, so clearly all Alpha Trions share this backstory as he sits scribbling in his Covenant, unaware of his duplicates as timeline on his homeworld diverge... while the others strive on outside of such constraints as time, space and physical bodies. :) I would agree with ItsWalky that maybe we should wait on it, but it's inevitable and currently I see four against two.
- Lastly, yes, SG Alpha Trion's actions do need to reappraised if this revelation holds. Afterall, is he not trying to overcome the evil Optimus, and prevent Nexus from recovering the very sword they cut him up to hide? Alientraveller 13:20, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
- He was trying to kill both Megatron and Optimus, so that he and Rodimus could rule the universe. Given that just a year ago Alpha Trion was definitely not one of the 13 according to Forest, and suddenly he is, I think some basic things that we know have been changed, or the old information is sometimes irrelevant to this new continuity. Again, we wait until we have better information. --ItsWalky 13:25, 11 August 2010 (EDT)

Been a couple of days, we need more opinions. As I noted on your talk page David, if we are to wait, we should wait for a good reason regarding SG Trion rather than denying Alpha Trion's otherwise consistent character. Alientraveller 12:04, 13 August 2010 (EDT)
Take 2
[edit]I made some tweaks to the article for a less in-universe stance on Alpha Trion being one of the Thirteen. As Hasbro has declared the Alignedverse separate from the old multiverse at BotCon, I feel Alpha Trion ought to be covered in one article as a universal concept much like the other members of the Thirteen and objects like the Matrix, AllSpark, Energon et al. I'm happy to wait, but hopefully I've reshaped this sandbox to others' liking. Alientraveller 19:35, 15 July 2011 (EDT)
- The problem with Alpha Trion being one of the Thirteen is that that's only a fact within the "Alignedverse." Alpha Trion is not stated to be one of the Thirteen in the original Multiverse. As you said, they were stated to be separate. --ItsWalky 20:03, 15 July 2011 (EDT)
