Before the Great War, Cybertronians society included a high class elite with the lower castes being subjugated leading to elements of discontent with these classes. In Maccadam's New Oil House, Rung was picked on by two cadets who told him to clean the mess after he spilled their drinks. Rung attempted to avoid conflict and said he was not a service droid to which the two larger Cybertronians asked, mockingly, who he was; one of the Knights of Cybertron, the last of the progenitors or Alpha Trion's long-lost Spark brother.

Megatron told Optimus Prime of his future plans if he defeated the Autobots and conquered Cybertron. He stated that once the Decepticon Empire had conquered the universe, he would bring about a rebirth of the Cybertronian race and create a new golden age that would put the works of the Knights of Cybertron to shame. Being Megatron, this peace would of course be achieved through tyranny. Chaos Theory #1
