Makeshift (Universe)
From MediaWiki
| The name or term "Makeshift" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Makeshift (disambiguation). |
- Makeshift is an Autobot-allied Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family (via the 2008 Univese line).
Makeshift is a member of the Safeguard Team. She's one smart Mini-Con and quite skilled as well. Makeshift is also decently fast, all of which is good for her really, since her durabillity isn't exactly anything to write home about. [1]
Toys
Universe (2008)
- Mini-Con 12-Pack (Multi-pack, 2008)
- Series: Armada Series
- Makeshift is a redeco of Classics Oil Slick, transforming into a Chevrolet Camaro muscle car. Her robot-mode "hands" (actually a knife and a pincer-like claw) can be deployed out of the grill of her car mode.
- As packaged and depicted in official photography, Makeshift's sole Powerlinx socket is inaccessible in vehicle mode, only appearing when her lower body is rotated into position in robot mode. The apparent reversal is at odds with the design of her mold-mate Oil Slick (as well as Makeshift's own instructions), suggesting that the figure may have been mis-assembled at an early stage in production. The ball-jointed legs are easily swapped, matching the two figures more closely.
- She was originally only available as part of a K-Mart exclusive Mini-Con 12-pack with Backstop, Blight, Bodyblock, Boltflash, Brimstone, Cloudraker, Flatfoot, Heavytread, Knockdown, Skyhammer, and Suppressor.
- This mold was also used to make Iron Claw.
- Makeshift (Mini-Con, 2009)
- Makeshift was also sold on an individual card through discount store chains like Big Lots! in the US. This version is identical to the multi-pack release, except that at least some samples display correct assembly in-package.
- Makeshift (Mini-Con, 2010)
- In the UK, all twelve Mini-Cons from the original "Mini-Con Class 12 Pack" set were released in individual blind-packed bags with "energon fizzy sweets" candies, distributed by The Little Factory Ltd. This version of Makeshift is actually a new tooling with numerous tiny differences from the original (and generally less crisp molding), but is functionally the same toy.
