G.I. Joe Slipstream
Where did you get the parsing of Slipstream's name as Slip-Stream from? The original figure and Marvel Comics spelled it as Slipstream, while the two more recent figures spell it as Slip Stream. --Tigerpaw28 12:13, 26 October 2009 (EDT)
- Well, I found it on Wanted Pages with all the links leading to Slip-Stream, so I assumed it was correct (I don't actually know all that much about G.I. Joe). If it should be at "Slipstream (G.I. Joe)" or something, by all means, go ahead and move it. --Apoc 12:37, 26 October 2009 (EDT)
- Apparently, I can't read YoJoe.com correctly. "Slip-Stream" is correct. So pay no attention to this man behind the curtain. --Tigerpaw28 20:53, 26 October 2009 (EDT)
Bruticus Maximus
Hey, thanks for agreeing my preference of having the entire combiner team represented with the combined mode in the toy image :D --FFN 20:24, 7 November 2009 (EST)
- I didn't know it was your idea, but is seemed like a reasonable solution! --Apoc 08:40, 8 November 2009 (EST)
Megatron X
Just wondering, Apoc - where'd you get the picture of Megatron X that's on his page? When I played the game, he looked like this... is it a problem with the emulator on my end? He showed up like that in both the Japanese and American versions of the game for me. --Monzo 02:39, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Well, I used an emulator too, so it's possible the error is on my end... I guess you better ask someone who owns the actual game which of the two is correct? Maybe Interrobang knows, since he made the article. --Apoc 08:38, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Dave van Domelen has a scan from an old Japanese magazine that shows Megatron X looking like this (or on this page if direct-linking doesn't work). It looks closer to your shot than mine, but still a little different... I guess it could be the Playstation version? Is he even in the Playstation version of the game? (I actually own it, but it won't emulate right on my PC, so I have no idea.) --Monzo 09:28, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Hm. Apoc, I was able to make Megatron X available in the "view character" option in the Japanese game... if I tossed up the save state and the J-game, would you be able to get some shots of Megatron X's beast mode for his page? It's actually changed from Megatron's more than I thought, but I'm really thinking the solid blueness is an error on my end. --Monzo 12:10, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Sure, we could try that! Although there may be a chance we're using different emulators with incompatible save states... --Apoc 12:24, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- I'm using Project64 1.6. What's yours? --Monzo 12:32, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Same! Go ahead, then. --Apoc 12:35, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- http://obscuretf.com/Transformers%20-%20Beast%20Wars%20Metals%2064%20(J)%20[!].zip and save state. Hopefully, this will work... if it doesn't, there's three things that need to be taken care of; "Play As" needs to be enabled under "Cheats" in the emulator options, and you'll need a copy of the Gameboy Color BW game and the N-Rage game controller plugin to enable the N64 Transfer Pak. But, uh, we'll cross that bridge only if we need to, and I have copies of all those anyway... --Monzo 12:50, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Success! A few shots of varying zooms of the beast mode, and one of the vehicle mode. Since Interrobang confirmed this is the right one, I guess your emulator just overdid the blue tint for whatever reason. However, I don't know how to get the camera into the angle you used in your second shot. --Apoc 14:10, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- I don't know if you're using a keyboard or a game controller. Whichever you're using, you need to activate the "C down" button to lower the camera; on an unaltered keyboard configuration and with the standard controller plugin, that would be the "End" key on the Insert/Home/Page Up/etc key field. Two or three times should get it into the position I used for his vehicle mode. -- Monzo 19:24, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Ah, thanks. Here you go. --Apoc 19:57, 25 December 2009 (EST)

I've played the game when I was young, and, yeah, Apoc's picture is what he's supposed to look like. I also recall seeing the renders from Dave's scan in either an issue of Nintendo Power or the manual. —Interrobang 13:27, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- I decided to follow this lead and eventually found these in an issue of Nintendo Power. Another option for a mainpic, I guess? --Apoc 14:43, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Wow, those are awesome! I definitely think we should use them. Do you have them any bigger? I can get someone to remove the backgrounds. --Monzo 19:24, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Sorry, but these are the full size of the only scans I could find online. But if you want to search for larger scans yourself or just happen to know someone with an NP collection, they're in issue #132, from May 2000. --Apoc 19:57, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Had a friend edit the existing pics into what you see now (flipping Megatron X's robot mode to match the in-game version). Worked out pretty well.
- Just for the sake of completeness, could you get me shots of him in close-up and from behind, too? --Monzo 22:25, 25 December 2009 (EST)
- Sure thing. --Apoc 05:44, 26 December 2009 (EST)

- I'm impressed you dug them out so quickly on the mere mention of "Nintendo Power". Unfortunate they don't seem to have his beast mode. —Interrobang 02:09, 26 December 2009 (EST)

Animated Planets
You fill my heart with joy.--Jimsorenson 18:23, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
- Oh, uh, thanks! I was getting bothered by all those planets clogging up Category:Stub, and since I own an Almanac and most articles only require a single additional sentence to be finished... --Apoc 18:33, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
- Yeah... I won't touch my own stuff, but it annoyed me to see all the stubs.--Jimsorenson 18:35, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
