Gilmer is a Decepticon Pretender in the Masterforce portion of thr Generation 1 continuity family.

Gilmer seems a bit like the sullen older businessman in the office, outstripped by the younger hotshots, and kinda aware of it. That's something of an archetype in anime. His embarassed reaction to Dauros's occaional moments of adulation is hilarious.

Gilmer seems to have some sexist prejudice against Mega, or her clear strong will, self-interest and playing favorites (as oppsoed to Giga's cold interest in their overall goals) She has phenomenal hearing, and pays him back for his implication that she's a hystrical woman by having Caner use him as a trainign dummy.
