Gilmer is a Decepticon Pretender in the Masterforce portion of thr Generation 1 continuity family.

Gilmer seems a bit like the sullen older businessman in the office, outstripped by the younger hotshots and kinda aware of it. That's something of an archetype in anime. His embarrassed reaction to Dauros's occasional moments of adulation is hilarious.

Gilmer seems to have some sexist prejudice against Mega, or her clear strong will, self-interest and playing favorites (as opposed to Giga's cold interest in their overall goals) She has phenomenal hearing, and pays him back for his implication that she's a hysterical woman by having Cancer use him as a training dummy.
