The Surge was a major Decepticon attack.

The Surge occurred when Megatron, in possession of Autobot access codes obtained from Sunstreaker, ordered the abandonment of the infiltration protocols and an all-out attack on all major Autobot outposts. Among the Autobot installations that came under attack were Garrus-9 Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 1 and possibly the Autobot Orbital Command Hub. Lost & Found

The extent of The Surge was such that, even three years later, interstellar communications were still in something of a state of disarray, as the Autobots had no way of directly contacted Chief Justice Tyrest following Megatron's capture. Chaos Part One: Lamentations
