- An era called the "Age of Wrath" was originally conceived in the unfinished Dreamwave Generation 1 based comic book miniseries of the same name. There it was to be the era of the battle between Primus's first children and Unicron.Grimlock's lineage traced back to the Age of Wrath. The Age of Wrath Pt.5 This information never made publication due to Dreamwave's collapse, and is only found in Simon Furman's script for the unpublished Age of Wrath #5.
- The Aligned continuity era was named after the Age of Wrath miniseries, which also involved the Quintessons and an invasion of Cybertron, though at a much later date.
