Energon detectors are technology from the live-action film continuity family.

Energon detectors are stationary installations designed to detect the Energon signatures of Cybertronians. They were developed by NEST as a means of locating and tracking Decepticons.

Following the defeat of The Fallen, NEST installed Energon detectors in around the globe. So effective were they, that Megatron was forced to hang out in the middle of nowhere somewhere in Africa. Detectors easily pinpointed the Dreads as the Decepticons drove down the D.C. parkway. After the main Decepticon force arrived from the Moon, they set Energon detectors off as far away as South America and China. Dark of the Moon
