Earl Kress (1951 - September 19, 2011) was an American writer. In addition to Transformers, he also wrote episodes of Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain (both of which netted him a Daytime Emmy), Road Rovers, and Kim Possible. He was also one of the scriptwriters on The Fox and the Hound.

In 2011, Kress passed away at age 60 after a battle with cancer. His final works were the animated films Tom & Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes, released in 2010, and Tom & Jerry in the Wonderful World of Oz, which was released shortly before his death.

  • Kress once agian appeared on an interview as a special feature for Shout! Factory's The Transformers Season 2 Vol. 2 and Seasons 3 &4 DVD sets. This time, he was wearing a Hawaiian Shirt.
