The name or term "Dan" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dan (disambiguation).
He may be an Imperial Colonel-Commissar, but captions still give him the willies.

Dan Abnett (born October 12, 1965) is a British novelist and comic writer best known for writing the Gaunt's Ghosts and Eisenhorn books in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. He has also created strips such as Sinister Dexter, Atavar, and Kingdom for 2000 AD, and was a writer on the "reboot" Legion of Super-Heroes for DC Comics.

Abnett (and Lanning) were intended to become regular writers at IDW in 2010-11, but, due to their other commitments, this fell through.[1]
