• This is the second new name assigned to a counterpart of G1 Slag, the first was Snarl (as in Animated Snarl and Robot Heroes Snarl, who borrowed the name from Snarl (G1)).
• Slug's beast mode appears to be based on a chasmosaurus, rather than the more popular (and traditional) triceratops.
