The Super Tuner Throwdown is an event from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film series continuity family.

Blowpipe has been modifying his body with the best racing tech ever since he got to Earth. And now, he's ready to test his new super-speed. What better way to prove his new gear's power than by hunting down, out-racing, and destroying Sideways, the Decepticons' master of the hit-and-run, with emphasis on the "run"? Blowpipe revs up his engine, ready for a race to the finish that would come to be called the Super Tuner Throwdown!

• Super Tuner Throwdown (Deluxe two-pack, 2009)

This double-pack was available exclusively at Walmart stores, coming with the unique Blowpipe toy and a much less unique Sideways.

Blowpipe is a redeco of the first film's Dropkick toy, in blue and gray as an homage to Generation 1 Pipes. He transforms into a customized Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck (or a similar model just different enough to avoid paying a licensing fee). His flatbed cover conceals a giant claw/plier deployed from the tailgate by a sliding knob on top. This assembly becomes a hand-held weapon for his robot mode. He also has (non-firing) twin blasters on the underside of each forearm in robot mode. This mold was also used to make Salvage.

Sideways is virtually identical to the dark-deco variant of his individual release, transforming into a close-enough-but-not-so-close-to-need-to-get-licensing Audi R8. When the front bumper is pressed, his front pair of wheels automatically flip underneath the hood, and his robot abs flip down. His biceps feature Mech Alive action: you can see internal gears moving in his forearms when moving his arms, as well as a turning disk on each of his elbows. On his right arm is a spinning sawblade. This mold was retooled into the Deluxe class version of Revenge of the Fallen Dead End.

Notes

• Obviously, Blowpipe didn't win, as Sideways lived all the way up until his bisection at the hands of Sideswipe in Shanghai.

• The box-bottom cross-sell features Hoist and Mixmaster... which is a ToysЯUs exclusive set. Not only that, but the packaging erroneously says they're "sold separately" (they are sold separately from this set, but not from each other).
