Personal canon

Eugenesis origin is canon. Brief(sorta) synopsis- Quintessons get their hands on two sentient P.R.I.M.U.S. software geode crystals, that contain the Lifecode, which is capable of bringing machines to life, which they place in two planets for safekeeping. The first geode transforms its lush world into a cybernetic world, the other(which was damaged, releasing a failsafe virus which became sentient trying to purge the Lifecode and wound up believing that its mission was to destroy all life in the universe) becomes a giant planet eating monster. The squids create brain modules, and begin creating a slave race using the geode, also creating a military race. They create a false religion in Primal Pentateuch about gods known as Primus and Unicron, who represent Order and Chaos, claiming the geode(now the Creation Matrix) was the conduit of Primus' lifeforce. The Primus geode, having already developed a god complex, went on to believe all this, and Unicron shared a mental link with Primus, also coming to believe the lies. The Covenant led a rebellion and Primon got the geode, which was passed down as a holy relic.

The Covenant are The Thirteen, who led the Rebellion after abandoning their original forms for designs based off the zodiac of the Quintesson's sworn ememies the Vestial Imperium. Believing the Primus/Unicron mythos, they forgot their true identities and left for Protos after reading the epilouge of the Pentateuch which speaks of J'nwan and Shokaract. Libras and Taurotron were the replacements for Alpha Trion (G1)(who chose to stay on Cybertron) and Maximo(who went insane and recieved a god complex from attempting to interface with the Matrix). The Fallen wasn't replaced after he too interfaced with the Matrix while it was connected to Unicron, causing him to betray his brothers and sister. Prima
