Steeljaw (DOTM)
| The name or term "Steeljaw" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Steeljaw (disambiguation). |
- Steeljaw is an Autobot pet from the Dark of the Moon portion of the live-action film series continuity family.
Few are more loyal and brave than the Wreckers' fearsome pet, Steeljaw! When they need his expert tracking skills, this cyber-dog puts both his advanced senses and his hydraulic jaws to work. Although bad-tempered and prone to emitting noxious fumes and sparks that can set nearby fields on fire, he's still a valuable addition to the elite engineering crew. Despite being regarded the Wreckers' little schnookums, he's said to be nearly as smart as they are. Hopefully that's not a backhanded indictment of his owners' intelligence.

Human Alliance

- Leadfoot / Sergeant Detour & Steeljaw (Human Alliance, 2011)
- Japanese ID number: DA30
- Accessories: Missile, leash
- Coming with Leadfoot and Sergeant Detour, Steeljaw is a surprisingly articulated robotic dog that can convert into what might charitably be called a "weapon", which is basically his head flipped up and the limbs arranged into a crossbow-shaped missile launcher. The weapon itself can be pegged onto either Leadfoot's forearm or back via MechTech ports. Steeljaw also includes a detachable chain 'leash' which can peg to Steeljaw and be pegged into Leadfoot's hand. The leash itself stores in Leadfoot's right arm. Sergeant Detour can also ride him in robot mode.
Notes
- Steeljaw appears to be based on a pit bull, given the cropped ears, squared snout, and stout build.
- He was intended to appear in Dark of the Moon, with Josh Nizzi having done design work. An early working name for him was "Warpath", which was also a working name for Wreckers Roadbuster and Topspin.[1]
- Steeljaw was apparently going to be Leadfoot's car mode engine, backed by the fact that he has engine parts covering his body. However, there's no configuration to allow Steeljaw to fit inside Leadfoot in car mode.
