Talk:Emirate
Only Autobots? Xeon appears to be a neutral from before the factions meant anything.--Rosicrucian 14:59, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, Emirate predates the Great War, so there were no Decepticons. There WERE Autobots then however, all TFs were Autobots. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.235.136.203 (talk • contribs).
Interestingly, Xeon's forehead bears the same symbol that appears on Megatron's gladiatorial medallion in Origin. It might represent Kaon itself as a regional insignia.--Rosicrucian 17:00, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Origin of the title
A vaguely plausible notion just occurred to me. What if 'Emirate' is a title given to former / superannuated Council members, and would therefore be rendered more correctly as 'Emerit', ie. a naturalized English form of 'emeritus' / 'emerita'? Xaaron would have the title as the only surviving former member of the defunct Council, and Xeon might have been a former council member dispatched to fulfil a political role on Kaon, a bit like a Roman proconsul or propraetor. Unfortunately Xaaron's referred to by another Autobot as 'Emirate' in "And There Shall Come A Leader", which is set before the Council's execution, but I still think this has got something going for it, particularly since it's got the connection to classical languages that runs through important-sounding Transformer names and titles. (FWIW, 'emerit' was used in the 17th and 18th centuries, but is now obsolete. Easy enough to re-coin, though.) -- Tribimat 19:33, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
