This article is about the Autobot from the 2010 Transformers toyline. For the helicopter used by G.I. Joe, see Tomahawk (G.I. Joe).
Tomahawk is an Autobot from the live-action film series continuity family (via the 2010 Transformers toyline).
I'm ready to be in robot mode... but not today!

Tomahawk is on the run. Taking advantage of his slow speed, Jetblade and Terradive have decided to break cover and chase him. Sucks to be them, since Tomahawk specializes in destroying 'bots faster than he is with his heat-seeking missiles.[1]

Fiction

Unite for the Universe

When Starscream used the Unite process to power himself up and challenge Megatron's leadership, Ratchet was dispatched with a weapon that would fry the Unite components and neutralize the threat. Tomahawk and Highbrow flew escort for the NEST plane carrying Ratchet to the battle zone. The Strongest Weapon

  • Tomahawk (Deluxe Class, 2010)
    • Japanese ID number: AA-12
    • Accessories: Left & right missile launchers, 2 missiles
Part of the third wave of 2010 Transformers toys, Tomahawk transforms into a slightly futuristic strike helicopter, sporting an amalgamation of features from both the Eurocopter Tiger and the ADH-02 Hellhound attack helicopter from Patlabor. He comes with spring-loaded missile launchers that mount under his wings via 5mm posts. In robot mode, he is armed with "snapping pincers" on his right forearm, while his missile launchers end up over his shoulders. They can also be detached and held in his hands or clipped onto his forearms using the c joint system if you so choose. In vehicle mode, the camera array under his cockpit can rotate left or right. Tomahawk is fairly unique among helicopter transformers in that his rotors are not attached via a metal pin, but a simple rotating joint.
This mold was retooled into Dark of the Moon Vortex. Much like his wave-mate Terradive, Tomahawk's instructions show him with Vortex's retooled head instead of his own.

Notes

  • Upon close inspection, Tomahawk appears to share certain similarities with a design, created by Josh Nizzi, for an Autobot AH-64 Apache named Longbow - which he entered for a USA Today contest to design a Transformer.[2]
  • On the cross-sell for Tomahawk on Terradive's packaging, he's listed as a Decepticon.
