Sunstreaker is Sideswipe's relative (presumably brother). They're "quite the pair" Ironhide says. They always drive other 'bots crazy with their swagger and arrogance. If they weren't quite so effective on the battlefield he'd have told Optimus to show them the door.

When a child asked Ironhide if Sideways was related to Sideswipe in some way (similar names and all); the response indicated that he isn't, but Sunstreaker is. #13's Law and Disorder

It is possible that he is deceased or missing. He might have gotten killed by the final great horde of the Decepticons. Or maybe his on Earth trying to find his brother Sideswipe. Or... In possibility, he might be a DECEPTICON soldier. Who knows?
