The Brainwave Transfer Device is capable of transferring the power of intelligence from one Transformer to another.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

After creating the Technobots, Grimlock ordered them to merge into Computron. The resulting giant noted that he possessed computing power, but not the intelligence to utilize it, and so Grimlock used the Brainwave Transfer Device to transfer his own super-intelligence to his creation. Grimlock returned to being his usual self, and Computron gained the knowledge to beat Abominus. Grimlock's New Brain
