The Allspark is a term that is used in several different continuities to describe different things.
Generation 1
The "Well of All Sparks," or simply The Allspark, is a dimension through which all living things -- past, present, and future -- are connected. A single Transformer's lifeforce, or Spark, leaves the Allspark when it is born and returns to it when it dies. Collectively, the sparks that compose the Allspark are the essence of Primus.
The Allspark is sometimes referred to as the Matrix. This can be confusing, as the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, a tangible artifact which acts as a gateway to the Allspark, can also be called "the Matrix."
The slogan "Till all are one!" likely refers to a coming day when all beings are as united in culture and temperment as they were in the Allspark.
Unicron Trilogy
Unicron can be seen as an inverse Allspark; instead of dispersing into many small parts to give life, he consumes all and deals only in death. It is in this way he is the opposite and enemy of Primus.
Beast Wars
Beast Wars Megatron attempted to consume all sparks to become a single, all-powerful giant spark, and nearly succeeded. Ironically, it was through his effort, and the opposition of Optimus Primal, that the day of peace finally arrived, and All Became One.
Transformers: The Movie 2007
In the Transformers: The Movie Prequel Series, the Allspark is a mystical artifact. Transformers everywhere believe it created their race, but little is truly known about the artifact. It was guarded by Megatron and Optimus Prime for years, until Megatron went rogue with his secret army, planning to capture the Allspark and use it for his own designs.
