A Sling Shock is a Cybertronian weapon, designed by Shockwave, that fires electrified bolas, which ensnare and coil around its victims.

Inspired by the "improvements" he had made to the Lightning Strike Coalition, Shockwave decided to upgrade his own arsenal, a project which resulted in the creation of the Sling Shock. When Grimlock escaped Shockwave's captivity, the reconfigured Autobot came across a Sling Shock, accompanied by a holographic log detailing its conception.

The Sling Shock was available in the G1 Retro Pack as a pre-order exclusive downloadable content weapon for use in the Fall of Cybertron storyline campaign. The Sling Shock was later made available alongside other additonal content in the Massive Fury downloadable content pack.
