In 1939, she was working with Doctor Morocco and a number of other scientists, building a time machine as part of the Griffin Rock Technology Expo. When they couldn't get it working, they stopped, but then four Rescue Bots and two kids arrived from the future. Hendrickson and the other scientists studied the robots before turning them over to Morocco. She encountered the time travelers again after they escaped Morocco's clutches, and Frankie Greene told her she'd go on to do great things. In return, she helped the group elude the police. Elma's feats of science were legendary, and in 1949 she was recreated as a hologram for the town's tricentennial celebration. Frankie Greene's middle name was Elma in her honor. Some 60 years after the hologram was made, Myles and Evan repurposed it as a "ghost" to scare people and make their thieving easier. The hologram was broadcast on Huxley Prescott's news report and recognized by Frankie and her father. Once the plot was uncovered and the perpetrators back in jail, Frankie put the holograms back to the purpose they'd originally been intended for. The Haunting of Griffin Rock
