A product of Blackrock Petroleum and Energy Concern, the Mega-Rig is a massive oil rig, built off the Louisiana coast. It is a revolution in the field of energy, siphoning oil up and converting it on-site into high-energy hydrogen fuel cells to save on shipping costs.

R.J. Blackrock invited the Decepticons to the unveiling of his company's new Mega-Rig. Also in attendance were Senator Shore and Blackrock's newest employee Sephie Beller. Partway through Blackrock's speech, the party was crashed by a group of Autobots led by Rodimus Prime.
