The Combaticons are offered a Faustian deal.

Synopsis

Deathsaurus needs to learn to sit like a lady.

The Combaticons awaken inside a cell within the fortress of their captor. Swindle marvels at the sturdiness of their prison, Blast Off complains that his alternate mode is never of use, and Brawl repeatedly tries to grab the bars despite being electrocuted by them. Onslaught's pleas for them to settle down go unheard, as he wearily grasps his forehead.

Soon, Decepticons Vanquish and Falcon approach the cell and apologize for the horrible mistake of imprisoning them. This isn't how it was supposed to go at all! After attempting (and failing) to smooth over bad feelings, the Combaticons are lead into the chamber of their captor, Lord Deathsaurus. Deathsaurus preys on the group's insecurities and begins offering them what they desire. To Blast Off, an upgrade that also includes a land mode is suggested, much to his pleasure. Deathsaurus also picks at their pride, reminding them that they were always paired with another team, as if they were unworthy to battle alone. This needling especially shakes Onslaught. Deathsaurus talks about how Onslaught had graduated at the top of his class at Omnihelix Academy, as one of the greatest strategic minds Cybertron has ever known.

Slowly but surely, Deathsaurus convinces the Combaticons that their real enemy is the Elite Guard, which has humiliated them and dulled their potency. He offers a means to enact violent revenge and show just who on Cybertron is a symbol of power and strength, while putting a quick and relatively painless end to the growing war before it escalates. Onslaught, after seeing what technological upgrade Deathsaurus has in mind for the team, readily accepts.

Quotes

  • "...Why me?"
Onslaught hates leading a team of morons

Notes

  • Deathsaurus coerces the Combaticons with tactics resembling the Seven Deadly Sins. He speaks to their Pride (Onslaught), Greed (Swindle), Envy (Blast-Off), Gluttony (Vortex), and Wrath (Brawl).
