Reason: Not about image, solved

As I've pointed out before, it's YOSHIOKA. Takara's official site lists him as that. Every site on the internet lists him as that. Please stop changing his name unless you can prove Takara wrong. --Monzo 21:52, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps Takara is proving themselves wrong, but the artist credit reads TOSHIOKA, hence my confusion. So you can go ahead and decide which one is more accurate, I guess. --DrSpengler 23:39, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Allright. I apologize for jumping on you like that; I didn't realize the G2 comics spelled his name that way. My bad.
That said... I pulled his name in kanji off the Takara GoBots site (吉岡英嗣) and inputted his last name into an online Japanese-English dictionary - here's the results. Toshioka doesn't come up as a possible translation - and kanji is, so far as I know, more accurate about these things than either hirigana or katakana is.
As well, the BotCon Japan website listed him as Yoshioka in English.
Why the G2 comic strips list him as Toshioka, I'm not sure. Obviously, they're the only place I've seen him labelled as that... maybe somebody could ask Doug Dlin? --Monzo 00:47, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Maybe someone at Takara thought that a T and a Y looked so similar "nobody would notice"? But yeah, if Yoshioka is the more prevelant version then go with that. Faulty Engrish has lead me astray yet again. --DrSpengler 01:36, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
