Sling Shock

The Sling Shock is a weapon from the Aligned continuity family.

Designed by Shockwave, the Sling Shock is a Cybertronian weapon that fires electrified bolas which can ensnare and coil around multiple victims.

Fall of Cybertron

Inspired by the "improvements" he had made to the Lightning Strike Coalition, Shockwave decided to upgrade his own arsenal, a project which resulted in the creation of the Sling Shock. When Grimlock escaped Shockwave's captivity, the reconfigured Autobot came across a Sling Shock, accompanied by a holographic log detailing its conception.

The Sling Shock was available in the G1 Retro Pack as a pre-order exclusive downloadable content weapon for use in the Fall of Cybertron storyline campaign. The Sling Shock was later made available alongside other additional content in the Massive Fury downloadable content pack.

Generations

• Shockwave (Deluxe, 2012)

Part of the first wave of 2012 Generations Deluxe Class toys, Fall of Cybertron Shockwave comes with a "laser cannon" accessory that's modeled after the Sling Shock. It is a hand-held laser cannon which can be stored on a 5mm port on his back, forms the front center fuselage of the vehicle, and undocumented in his instructions, can replace his hands by folding either one of them in, revealing a socket on his wrist that a tab underneath his cannon can mount to. As another undocumented feature, the cannon actually consists of two pieces, with a large y-shaped barrel that can be removed, revealing the sculpted ends of a triple-barreled gun. The y-shaped barrel part can also be stored on Shockwave's back, forming some sort of jet-pack exhaust.

This weapon was redecoed/retooled into Fall of Cybetron Air Raid's sword/cannon accessories.
