Triple Changer?
Ok, we all know that Soundwave can transform into a Spy Rig-class Cybertronian truck, right? Well, right before his boss fight against Optimus and his team, he is briefly seen in the form of a Cybertronian device similar to a tapedeck, much like his original G1 counterpart's Earth mode. Does this mean he's a Triple Changer or is that just an interface mode like when you use the mounted turrets? --Cydra 21:19, 4 July 2010 (EDT)
- As per our standards, we do not classify anyone as a "Triple Changer" (proper noun) unless they are specifically labeled as such. Lots of TFs have third modes who are not Triple Changers. --M Sipher 21:31, 4 July 2010 (EDT)
Toy Image
I'm not going to switch out the caption just 'cause I feel like it, but every time I look at the image, all I can think of is, "BECAUSE YOU ARE HEADCRAB SOUNDWAVE!"--Apcog 19:09, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
Cybertron Adventures
Soundwave discovers that the Autobots have infiltrated the Datacore. Megatron sends him and Barricade to take care of the intrusion. The two speed out, and Soundwave must navigate a highway overgrown with Dark Energon crystals while dealing with swarms of Aerialbots before they can shut off access to the Datacore. An Autobot Destroyer blocks Soundwave's path and brings the roof down, forcing him to take an alternate route. he makes his way to a security station and downloads the information on the Autobots' advance, radioing Barricade to meet him at the assigned coordinates. When Soundwave arrives, though, he finds Barricade in the middle of a shooting gallery. The Autobots are soon joined by an aerial Destroyer, but the pair make short work of it. Soundwave intercepts a data download but cuts it off quickly, and races to intercept the escaping Autobots. Weaving his way through Dark Energon crystals and moving walls (huh?), he reaches the intercept point in time, causing Ironhide and Bumblebee to skid out of control... and right into a fusion blast from Megatron. This is here because I cant figure out how to put this on the page-- User:Kuptrion
Other Figures
Doesn't WFC Soundwave have an RPM figure and a Stealth Force figure? --Spongezilla 4 August 2010 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure that RPMs and Stealth Force are exclusive to the movie universe. -- Semysane 16:14, 4 August 2010 (EDT)
- Hm, they used his Video game robot mode, and Inferno appears to be from the Classics Universe. Gah, the 2010 line is all screwed up. -- Spongezilla 00:07, 5 August 2010 (EDT)
- I'd say the Stealth Force figure is the movie guy, even though he has the WFC robot mode and the Animated vehicle mode. His bio talks about how he used to be a satellite and how he's just come down to Earth for the first time. That points to movie continuity to me. (Meanwhile, Stealth Force Silverstreak and Hound are clearly the G1 guys.) ((This should probably go on the Stealth Force page.)) --ItsWalky 01:48, 5 August 2010 (EDT)
- Well, given how the RPM/Speed Stars image at the bottom, and the package photography on the Stealth Force toy all represent WFC Soundwave... I'd say they're toys of this Soundwave and not ROTF Soundwave. --Detour 13:23, 9 October 2010 (EDT)
- You're well late, it's discussed on Soundwave (ROTF). Still, what with repurposing, we can discuss it here too. Alientraveller 13:37, 9 October 2010 (EDT)

What about the new Legion Class Soundwave. Mold wise it's clearly DOTM Soundwave, but the packaging is for the Prime line with his Prime Bio on the back. helli0n 21:27, 6 June 2012 (EDT)
- I don't know much about the bio on the back but the front of the packaging omits the Prime name just like it does for Mirage and Evac. They wouldn't leave them out if they were blatantly meant to be Prime toys. --Detour 21:45, 10 June 2012 (EDT)

Quote
Could we not consider Starscream and Knock Out's exchane in Sick Mind for Soundwave's main quote? It fits with Soundwave's role as... well, the eyes and ears of the Decepticons, as the spy.
"That blasted Soundwave sees and hears everything." "The eyes and ears of the Decepticons." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.190.7.46 (talk • contribs).

It's "reining in", you guys. You rein in a horse. Reigning is something a monarch does.
Shockwave (DOTM)
Soundwave (Prime) is silent, he doesn't show any signs of sentience when someones talks to him, except moving his head to say no or yes, he just stands and watches. He's apparently dangerous : Airachnid seems to have given the autobots the hell of a run in previous episodes, and he owned her. Shockwave in the movie : the same. ( well apparently in prequel comics he kills and kills and kills. ) Should we point the similarity in the Notes ? Is it on purpose that two of the most popular characters EVER bear similarities or is it a coincidence ? SnipinScientist
- Well... no. "Soundwave doesn't speak, just like Shockwave in the Dark Of The Moon movie" is really not a noteworthy thing. There's lots of Transformers who don't speak. That doesn't make them identical/homages/noteworthingly similar. --Detour 07:32, 18 February 2012 (EST)
- Decepticons who don't speak in the live-action movies are a dime a dozen. I suppose we could also note that Soundwave (Prime) is just like Movie Blackout, Bonecrusher, Ravage, Scorponok, all seven/eight/nine Constructicons, Sideways, all the protoform warriors, Crowbar, Crankcase, Hatchet... but at that point we're just being friggin' ridiculous, wouldn't you say? --ItsWalky 09:13, 18 February 2012 (EST)
- Bonecrusher, Demolishor, Mixmaster and Rampage did speak.--199.60.104.18 23:04, 22 February 2012 (EST)
- That is not the point. —Interrobang 23:55, 22 February 2012 (EST)

Season 2
Is it true that Soundwave is going to start talking in season 2 of Prime?71.162.102.155 23:11, 23 February 2012 (EST)
- Well is he?71.255.172.244 16:33, 1 March 2012 (EST)

Noticed on the deluxe toy
The paint apps on the nose of the vehicle mode look an awful lot like eyes, and the heels of the robot mode feet hinge just under it like a beak. In a sense, his vehicle mode seems to be at least a visual homage to Laserbeak, since Prime Laserbeak looks more like a bat than anything. Worth noting in trivia? --72.215.154.250 16:38, 11 March 2012 (EDT)
- No, that's just a coincidence. (and really, he doesn't look anything like Laserbeak.)--Roni134730 09:57, 12 March 2012 (EDT)
"Canons"
Someone might want to go correct that in the Prime toy's mention of the Takara release.
Soundblaster
Should'nt we add the Soundblaster and Buzzsaw repaint of the Fall of Cybertron Soundwave toy to the page?
RID Soundwave's arms
I just got a deluxe Soundwave the other day, and noticed that mine has an... interesting use of plastic in the parts of the arms that fold out with the hands on them: On his right arm, this piece is cast in a slightly flexible, but still rigid, plastic (a la Wheeljack's swords), yet on the left arm, it's that annoying soft plastic. Did I get a factory reject, or is this a common curiosity? If all (or even multiple) figures have them, I think it ought to be mentioned on the page.
- - ¡Usa El Queso! Complain here 02:15, 2 July 2012 (EDT)
- Managed to compare my Hasbro and TakaraTomy Soundwaves. The Hasbro version features slightly more rigid a plastic head, arms, tail-fins, nose, and Laserbeak wings, while the TakaraTomy version has soft rubbery ones. Interesting. Inkblot 06:59, 2 July 2012 (EDT)
- Mine's the Hasbro version. The nose and heels are soft, but they're just in between the two arms in terms of harness, whereas the head seems to match the right arm. The left arm is just weird, though. It's the only part that's made of a plastic that soft. This isn't something that one would have to compare two figures to notice. It's blatantly (and painfully) obvious.

Soundwave's blasters
Should something be added about FoC Soundwave's handheld blaster? It's identical to G1 Prime's Ion Blaster, although it was omitted in the first run of FOC Soundwaves released in Australia (possibly all of them, but we don't know for sure)?Larkmarn 15:19, 5 November 2012 (EST) This is common knowledge and the similarity is already noted, the accesory was ommited entirely for cost cutting reasons.
