Why'd we remove the stuff about his white-noise generator dish used to avoid detection when scouting in his "omnibot" mode? It's a fairly distict characteristic and special power as an omnibot?
- Well, usually, that kind of specific-toy-incarnation information belongs elsewhere in the article. Just like Jazz's profile shouldn't say he's a certain kind of Porsche, and Mirage's profile shouldn't say he can turn invisible while a yellow box surrounds him. --ItsWalky 01:55, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't call having a white-noise generator that he uses on stealth missions and that being an omnibot means he has a ".5" mode "toy" info though. I'd call it character related special powers, like how Windcharger's entry goes on at leangth about his speed and magnetic abillities.

- Ok, hadn't considered that. :) Although... The Alternator has no bio or fiction so considering the same character is a judgement call (though I personally would too) and Universe is specifically various alternate realities. Actually come to that, the Universe toy really shouldn't be on here should it? I thought Universe guys were considered their own seperate characters and got their own page cause of the alt reality thing. Right?
- Just got a lok at Camshaft's Univers bio. It's totally different from his classic one (even has a different quote) combine that with it being Universe and I definately think it should be its own seperate character entry. ZacWilliam 12:49, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Camshaft didn't have a "classic one." There's the Dreamwave profile and there's this. The most the original mail-order material told us is that he's a scout, and a guy who slinks around in the shadows can certainly apply that to his scoutness. I find the two takes to be complimentary, much like Forest Lee's other material where we get a normal bio and then we get another tangent on their key info. --ItsWalky 15:24, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
For some reason I thought he had a japanese spec in G1, that DW drew on, but I'm probably remembering wrong and it really doesn't matter if it did or not.
I think it's pretty clear that this bio wasn't intended as "complimentary." All the other spychangers have their G1 bios exactly (even Hoist's which mentions being a tow-truck when he's NOT) not new suplimental material. Had the person putting the specs together had Camshafts existing material they would have just used it, but instead they created a whole new character for the toy.
Look at it this way:
G1 Camshaft has an official bio that says: he enlisted but doesn't want to die for the cause. Is very smart and a good scout because he avoids heroics or danger like the plague. His quote is about being smart enough to know when to run away.
Now in a line that is *specifically centered on Alternate Reality varients* along comes U. Camshaft who is discribed as "Daring" (the above character is specifically NOT "daring") and as a Rouge with special contortionist abilities who (rather than avoiding danger) specializes in sneeking into heavily guarded strongholds. He's grim ninja who's quote is about how he loves solitude.
That's NOT complimentary expansion that's a new and very contridictory character. Given that Universe is about alternate reality versions of characters to begin with, I'd say U. Camshaft is very much his own character as much as any alt. reality versino of a G1 bot could be. ZacWilliam 12:30, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

This wouldn't be the first time the MTMTE books don't agree with something else. Take a look at A-Thundercracker. As Camshaft has the same function as his original toy (and that's ALL the original toy had) and he hangs around a group of Autobots who, for all intents and purposes are the original guys, and I'd say that this Camshaft being a completely seperate character is just making things too difficult. --Spectre
