A continuity family is MediaWiki's term for a group of related individual continuities that belong to the same Transformers franchise. For example, Generation 1, the original Transformers toyline and franchise, had several distinct, separate continuities. Therefore, there is no single Generation 1 continuity, but many related ones. "Continuity family" is the term used on this wiki to distinguish a franchise group of continuities from the individual ones.

The two major continuity families are:

  • The Generation 1 continuity family
This includes the original television series, the Marvel Comic, and the subsequent Beast Wars and Beast Machines franchises.
