Continuity family
From MediaWiki
A continuity family is MediaWiki's term for a group of distinct but closely-related individual continuities. For example, Generation 1, the original Transformers toyline and franchise, had several separate continuities. Therefore, there is no single Generation 1 continuity, but many related ones. Further, these continuities are clearly distinguishable from the various Unicron Trilogy continuities, or from Robots in Disguise.
Transformers' The two major continuity families are:
- The Generation 1 continuity family, which includes the original television series, the Marvel Comic, and the subsequent Beast Wars, Beast Machines, and Universe franchises.
- The Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Robots in Disguise is not a member of either of the above two families. However, there appears to be only one RID continuity, so whether one refers to it as a "family" with only one member or as a singular continuity is a matter of taste.
