Darkside Optimus Prime (ダークサイドオプティマスプライム Dākusaido Oputimasu Puraimu) is the living embodiment of Optimus Prime's inner darkness. He is the shadow to Optimus's light, a destroyer who believes that evil is born from the existence of good. In order to achieve universal peace, he seeks the destruction of his Autobot doppelgänger and those who follow him. Within his chest is an ancient dimensional transport device, which he plans to use to exterminate all Optimus Primes in the known multiverse (aside from himself, of course).

He has recently sided with the Decepticons to better achieve his goal. Though he resembles his most hated foe, Megatron is not bothered by this new addition to his forces, and even lets this killer run loose and free to carry out his mission.
