Darkside Megatron (ダークサイドメガトロン Dākusaido Megatoron) is the mental shadow of Megatron's insanity granted its own existence. How such an occurrence came about is unknown.

Part of a Tokyo Toy Show 2011-exclusive United multipack with Darkside Optimus Prime, Darkside Megatron is a dark-themed redeco of the War for Cybertron Megatron toy, transforming into a Cybertronian self-propelled gun. The treads of his vehicle can be positioned in either a vertical configuration like a traditional tank or in a horizontal, hovertank configuration. Megatron's spring-loaded cannon can attach to either arm.

His deco is black with dark lavender parts and bright, shiny metallic purple detailing. His forehead crest is painted and his crotch and the cannon's sliding mechanism have painted metallic orange details, to match his dark orange clear parts. His light-piping isn't painted over and he has a white-bordered purple Decepticon insignia on his stomach.

The mold was also used for United Megatron.
