Vertebreak is a Predacon from the Aligned continuity family.
Crouching Hidden Tiger-Dragon.

Vertebreak is one of the Predacons subjected to hyper-evolution by Shockwave. He is simply content to destroy the Autobots and anyone else allied with them. His best traits are his incredibly bravery, his impressive endurance and strength, as well as his slightly above-average fireblast. If there are any reasons why he isn't leading Predacon squadrons, look no further than his mediocre skill, his slow speed, and his lack of decent processing power.

He wields the powerful Hyena Cannon, which is capable of producing, before each shot, an unsettling sonic alarm which can cause some bots to involuntarily run for their lives in sheer panic. Even worse, when the cannon's missiles actually hit them, it scrambles their circuits, causing his targets to attack their fellow comrades. Those who are dumb enough to actually get close to Vertebreak will end up feeling dumber, as the Hyena Cannon's special short-range blast will permanently drain his victims of a couple of intelligence points. Hopefully, that is not the cause for Vertebreak's stupidity.

Have we mentioned that his name is freaking awesome?

Prime: Beast Hunters Vertebreak is a redeco of Lazerback, and transforms into a dragon with an opening jaw. His tail detaches to become a whip that is held by his hands via 5mm post. His dragon back hinges over his head in robot mode to become the "Hyena Cannon", a spring-loaded missile launcher which fires a single, double-pronged missile. The launcher itself is attached to a peg-hole on his back, and can be detached for use as a hand-held weapon.
