Electrum is a substance is in the Generation 1 continuity family.
Electrum causes Transformers to break out in Dance Fever.

Electrum is a golden substance alloy which can be used to render a Transformer virtually invulnerable for short period.

When coated with Electrum, a Transformer turns golden in color and can survive even the strongest of attacks without so much as a scratch.

Beachcomber once found a lagoon full of the stuff, which was promptly seized by the Decepticons. The Golden Lagoon

Dreamwave continuity

Sunstorm was built out of an Electrum Alloy which instantly repaired any damage he suffered. Whether this property is natural of Electrum, or was a side effect from Sunstorm's unusual creation is unknown.

Trivia

In reality, electrum is a naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver, with trace amounts of copper and other metals.[1]
