As the Autobots and Skywatch soldiers flee, Starscream tries to make a deal.
Synopsis
A BNN newscast shows footage of the attack on the Skywatch base, and reports that a caravan of vehicles are leaving the area. This caravan, consisting of both Autobots and Skywatch troops, is fleeing towards Omega Supreme when it suddenly comes under attack from Mexican civilians armed with Megatron replica guns and a grudge against Transformers. Ultra Magnus prepares to defend himself, but is convinced by Pennington that opening fire on humans would only further ruin the Autobots' view in the public eye. Despite Huffer's complaints, they continue to retreat.
Meanwhile in Thundercracker's lair, Starscream attempts to sway him into rejoining the Decepticon army, but is rebuffed. Pointing out that the Decepticons left him for dead years ago, Thundercracker declares that he doesn't need them anymore and compares Starscream's offer to Bumblebee's. Starscream explains that unlike the Autobots, he doesn't just need Thundercracker to save some humans or whatever, but rather to overthrow Megatron himself, whom he claims has no long-term goals and only returned to Earth for mindless revenge. When Thundercracker just turns his back on this opportunity to take control of the Decepticons and lead them to glory and conquest, Starscream snaps and guns him down. As he verbally assaults the injured seeker for his attitude, however, Starscream is in turn attacked by Brawn, who accuses him of shooting down Optimus Prime's plane. After he is disarmed and beaten to a pulp, Starscream pleads for mercy and claims that he was not responsible.
Two miles from Omega Supreme, the civilians chasing the Autobot caravan are suddenly killed by a laser blast. Ultra Magnus is furious that someone broke orders when Megatron himself emerges in the form of a stealth bomber, revealing himself to be the killer. The Autobots attack, but their weapons fail to put a scratch on the Decepticon leader's new body, and they find themselves crippled from only a single blast from his cannon. As Megatron begins to gloat to Ultra Magnus, he is interrupted by Skywatch soldiers firing a suppressor at him, but eradicates them with little effort. Magnus tries to stop him, telling him to focus on his real enemies, but Megatron assures him that the Autobots aren't his target... humanity is.
Meanwhile, in the Panama Canal, Optimus Prime, Spike Witwicky and their troops emerge from the ocean depths, having survived their plane crash.

Notes
- The title Woken Furies is once again taken from a book by Richard K. Morgan. One of two sequels to Altered Carbon, it was released in 2008.
- Although the robot-mode deco on Megatron's new body's arguably owes more to his Animated counterpart's "Shadow Blade" repaint, the reveal of his new stealth bomber alternate mode in this issue is almost certainly a nod to his unreleased "ATB Megatron" Generation 2 toy, which also featured a similar color scheme.
Errors
- Huffer is colored yellow and blue, when he's supposed to be orange and purple.
- The Skywatch plane is said to have come down over the Atlantic. Why would a plane flying from North Korea to New Mexico be flying over that ocean?
- As he comes out of the water, Ratchet's torso is colored dark gray.
- Regardless of which ocean they were flying over, why would they emerge in the Panama Canal of all places?
