Earthquake is a multipath adventure in Generation 1.

Synopsis

Beachcomber discovers a hidden Decepticon base, from which they are planning to destroy the nearby Center City, a dry run at destroying all the world's capitals.

Jesse and Buster, exploring nearby, also discover Megatron's plan.

A crack team of Autobots infiltrate the fortress to destroy Megatron's weapon (running into a conspiracy between Starscream and Soundwave to unseat Megatron in the process.)

Notes

  • One of the vanishingly few appearances of Jesse outside of Marvel Comics.
  • Beachcomber is armed with a gun that shoots bullets. It's not especially effective, at least against the coneheads.
    • Though they're never depicted as coneheads here, thanks to being toy/box-art based.
  • Beachcomber's brain functions involve "memory tape". That's apparently standard for this micro-continuity-nexus, since Dirge is able to replay it (exactly how isn't explained; Soundwave and the cassettes aren't around) to gather intel after disassembling him. Dirge specifically replays "the last 15 minutes", implying he considers that the equivalent of TF short-term memory. This also implies that TF brains are much larger here than in most major continuities.
  • This book was available individually, or as part of a six-book box set with the other five "pre-Movie era" books in the series.
